Information Technology (IT) is a major investment at any college or university today. Institutions struggle over IT’s multi-faceted and critical roles for administration, instruction, research, and student affairs. Some major research universities separate academic and administrative computing while most do not. Typically the more standardized applications are easier to implement and more cost-effective to maintain and train users.
